U.S. and China Meet in Madrid as TikTok Deadline Nears

With the most recent deadline set for September 17, officials from the U.S. and China are scheduled to meet in Madrid, Spain, on September 15 for negotiations on the future of tiktok.

Through three consecutive executive orders issued by the United States President Donald Trump on January 20, April 4, June 19, 2025, to further extend Tiktok enforcement delay, requiring Bytedance to divest U.S. operation or face nationwide ban.

Reports says that Trump is likely to ordee another extension after September 17. In a quick media interview, Trump stated: "I may or may not. We are negotiating tiktok right now. We may let it die, I don't know, it's up to China. I will do it for the kids. Selfishly speaking, I did very well on tiktok, and I got it useful"
