OpenAI is introducing Study Mode on Chatgpt—a new way to learn using chatgpt. This innovation aims to work problems step by step instead of getting quick answer. This feature will be available to signed users and is coming soon in few weeks on the Chatgpt Edu. ChatGPT's Study Mode will be useful for students, assisting them in homework and learning new topics.

Google DeepMind model result was officially graded and certified by IMO The International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is a mathematical competition organized for high school students. It was first held in Romania in 1959 with seven participating countries. Today, the IMO has grown to include over 100 participating countries. Each countries are represented by six elite individuals who compete to solve six difficult problems in algebra, combinatorics, geometry, and number theory. Last year, with the merging of Alphaproof and AlphaGeometry 2, Google DeepMind's system was able to solve four out of six problems at the IMO with an awarded score of 28 points. This year, Google Gemini Deepthink model earned 35 points for solving five of six IMO problems correctly. Google's Gemini Deepthink model was awarded gold-medal performance. Astronomer CEO Resigns After Viral Incident At Coldplay Concert

Andy Byron, The CEO at Astronomer, has resigned after being placed on leave for a viral video of him on 17 July at a Coldplay concert in Boston, which shows him hugging Kristin Cabet, the Chief Human Resources Officer at Astronomer. Astronomer is a platform co-founded in 2018 by Greg Neiheisel, Pete De Joy, Ry Walker and Tim Brunk to enable data teams to seamlessly build, run and observe all their data products within a unified DataOps platform. In a LinkedIn post, Astronomer says that their leaders are expected the highest standard in both conduct and accountability. As such, the Board of Directors initiated a formal investigation. Meta's Chief Global Officer Said That Europe Is Heading Down The Wrong Path On AI And Will Not Be Signing The Act

Joel Kaplan, Chief Global Affairs Officer at Meta, stated in a LinkedIn post that Meta will not be signing the European Commission's code of practice for general-purpose AI (GPAI). He wrote, "European is heading down the wrong path on AI", stating that the code introduces a number of legal uncertainties for model developers, as well as measures which go far beyond the scope of the AI act. The General-Purpose AI code of practice helps industry comply with AI act legal obligations on safety, transparency and copyright of General-Purpose AI model. This code was released on July 10, 2025.

Windsurf Joins Forces With Cognition To Reinvest The Future Of Software Development

Cognition has recently signed an agreement to acquire Windsurf. The agreement entails the acquisition of Windsurf IP, product, trademark and strong business brand. Following Google's hiring of Windsurf CEO Varun Mohan, co-founder Douglas Chan and other senior employees, Cognition has acquired the remaining assets of Windsurf  Cognition, makers of Devin was co-founded in November, 2023 by CEO Scott Wu and Steven Hao. Cognition will be integrating Devin with Windsurf technologies for developers. Developers will be enabled to plan task in an IDE powered by Devin codebase. PlayAI was officially acquired by Meta on July 11, 2025 PlayAI, legally PlayHT Inc., is a startup platform that uses AI to generate human- sounding voices for all forms of conversation. It was co-founder on June 27, 2022 by Mahmoud Felfel and Hammad Syed.

W indsurf, formerly Codeium is a platform that provides AI coding assistant and Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for developers. It was co-founder in June 2021 by Varun Mohan (CEO)  and Douglas Chan. On May 6, 2025, OpenAI has agreed to acquire windsurf for approximately $3 billion. However, on Friday July 11, 2025, the deal talk was officially called off. Google moves quickly to hire Varun Mohan—Windsurf CEO and few others of its top AI researchers to join Google DeepMind team. Windsurf co-founders Varun Mohan and Douglas Chan in a statement to Business Insider expressed their excitement to joining Google DeepMind team with some others of Windsurf team. Linda Yaccarino Resigns As CEO Of X corp

  X formerly Twitter was created in March 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Noah Glass, Biz Stone and Evan Williams. It was acquired by Elon Musk in October 2022 for $44 Billion and rebranded to X on July 23, 2023. Musk served as CEO until June 6, 2023, when Linda Yaccarino succeeded as the CEO of X. On July 9, 2025, Yaccarino via her X account announced her resignation from X after 2 years of incredible service.  In her post, she express gratitude to Elon Musk for trusting her with the responsibility of protecting free speech and transforming X into the "Everything App." The reasons for her resignation remains unknown. A day before her resignation, Grok, an artificial intelligence chatbot developed by xAI and integrated on the X platform, raised alarm on antisemtic and pro-Hitler remarks in response to user prompt.

  Apple announced the transition of Jeff Williams' role as Chief Operating Officer to Sabih Khan. Jeff Williams holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from North Carolina state university and an MBA from Duck university. He joined Apple Inc in 1998. He was named vice president of operation in 2004 and was later promoted to Chief Operating Officer of Apple on December 17, 2015. Jeff Williams would be retiring in late 2025 after 27 years of service to Apple with plans to spend more time with family and friends beginning from next year. Sabih Khan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and mechanical engineering from Tufts university and a master's degree in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer polytechnic institute. He joined Apple in 1995 and was named Senior vice president of operations on 27 June, 2019. During this role, Khan was in charge of Apple's global supply chain and he reports to Jeff Williams.

Huawei AI Lab Denies Copying Alibaba Qwen Model

  Pangu is a large learning language model featuring 1.085 trillion parameters, developed by Huawei.It was first announced during the Huawei Developer Conference on July 7, 2023. The model was developed within Huawei Mindspore 5 - an open-source deep learning training interface. Alibaba's Qwen on the other hand, is a family of large language model developed by Alibaba Cloud in 2023. On July 4, 2025, Pangu Pro MoE (Mixture of Experts) model was alleged to be similar with Alibaba Qwen- 2.5 model in a GitHub post by an unidentified member of HonestAGI (a newly created group). This claim was based on "model fingerprinting" technology. According to the post, it claimed that Huawei's Pangu Pro MoE (Mixture of Experts) model shows Extraordinary correlation (0.927) with Qwen- 2.5 14B.
